A blank side passage turned into a stamped-concrete courtyard and garden walkway with enough texture and planting to feel like a room.
How this project came together
The design decision
We treated the blank side passage as a room: a stamped concrete courtyard and walkway, laid out to connect the deck and the garden rather than just run between them.
The build
The stamped concrete takes texture through the courtyard and along the curved walk. Trimmed ornamental trees, decorative boulders and shrubs give the route enough planting to read as a garden and not a corridor.
